Welcome to the Climate Change Data Center!

This site has been set up to assist the public in accessing data for the following types of Climate Change information:

  • Emissions
  • Consumption
  • Generation
  • GHG Concentrations
  • Demographics and Key Indicators - Population, GDP, and a few others
Registered users can upload documents containing key data items, add references to Web sites and documents on the Web, and request that someone in our community locate specfic data items.

Click one of the links at the left to explore this site
1. Search – We've found Web sites and pages which contain key data items that can either be searched online or downloaded.  Use the "selection criteria" form to locate the items in which you are interested
2. XLS Resources – Search for Spreadsheets on the DOE/EIA website and open them to review their contents
3. Requests - See a list of key data items that users have requested by registered users
4. Request (enabled when you register or login) - Ask someone in this community to find some data for you.  You will be notified as soon as it is found
5. Charts - Charts emission, consumption, and key indicator data for Virginia and the US. The idea of this “section” is to make it easy for “novice” users to view and chart data related to climate change.
Once you select "Charts", select the desired "inventory" data to be charted. Once on the "charting page", use the radio buttons and checkboxes to select the date to be displayed. Then click the "Show Data" button.
6. Flow Diagrams – Views the data in a "water flow" diagram and allows the user to "drill down" to the underlying data
7. Add Source (enabled when you register or login) - Add a data source - either a URL or upload a file
8. View Your Sources (enabled when you register or login) - View the data sources you have added and/or the change requests that you have suggested. You can also delete any resources or change requests that you have made.
9. Critically Review- Some thought on how to critically review environmental books, articles, etc.
10. Scenarios - Run a "climate change model" to forecast future temperature changes based on greenhouse gas emissions
11. Survey - After you have had a chance to review the site, please take a moment to take a short survey. We want to know what you think about this site.
